Win a $1,000 Diamond at D-Jays Game

Ladies Night at the stadium is taken to heart on Friday.

Baseball diamonds are traditionally for the boys, right? Well, on Friday, they’re also for the ladies — and we’re not just talking the baseball kind.

In honor of Ladies Night at , one lucky Dunedin Blue Jays fan will leave the game with a diamond valued at more than $1,000.

Here's how it works: A fake diamond will be hidden in the warning track, and after the game, those signed up to participate will race to dig it up. The winner will receive the real thing from , a downtown shop specializing in custom-made jewelry.

Fans can also get free chair massages; win massages, facials, manicures and gift baskets from area boutiques and salons; and enjoy all the regular Ladies Night drink specials. Oh, and the game. The D-Jays are kicking off a four-game series against the St. Lucie Mets, after all.

Fans must sign up before the game to partake in the post-game diamond dig. Space is limited and is first come, first served, so it’s best to arrive early if you want a shot at that diamond, D-Jays spokesman Craig Durham said. The box office opens at 4 p.m.
