Dunedin Doggie Rescue Adoptable: Gracie Mae

"She's a perfect dog and we keep telling her that people just don't know what they are missing!"

Gracie Mae is a dachshund-Jack Russell mix. She is around 5 years old and about 25 pounds. Gracie Mae was adopted about three years ago, to what she thought would be her forever home. Gracie soon found out that was not the case. Her owners decied to adopt a new baby and with that, also decided that they no longer wanted Gracie Mae.

Gracie's foster can not understand this line of thinking as they feel she is a perfect angel. They said at first she was very scared and sad but now she is an absolute joy to be around.

Gracie has a tendancy to be scared of new people and other dogs at first but she quickly warms up. She is potty trained, doesn't chew or destroy anything in the house, loves to go for walks, ride in the car, and only barks at dog appropriate times. One of the best appropriate times is when she lets her foster family know when there are strangers outside.

She is such a wonderful girl that her foster family says she listens better than their own dogs!

Gracie HATES to be in trouble and comes right away when she's called. She loves to help out doing yard work in the front yard, check the mail, all while being off the leash because she is such a good listener!

She loves to sit with her foster family on the couch and snuggle while sleeping.  She has a wonderful silky coat and gets so excited to greet her foster family when they get home.  Her foster says, "She's a perfect dog and we keep telling her that people just don't know what they are missing!"
