Dunedin Causeway Will Close for Midnight Run

The Causeway will close to vehicles starting at 10 p.m. Wednesday night.

If you are planning to be out driving late Wednesday, keep in mind that Dunedin Causeway will be closed to vehicles from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. to allow for the Kiwanis Midnight Run.

The Causeway will be closed to cars from Honeymoon Island to Alternate U.S. 19. Only emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

All of the scheduled runs will start on Causeway Boulevard at the Causeway Plaza. The finish line is in the Causeway Plaza Shopping Center parking lot. All races are run entirely on Causeway Boulevard.

Up to 2,800 runners are expected to turn out for the annual fundraising event. Even though the Causeway is closing at 10 p.m., motorists can expect traffic and delays prior to that, as the majority of runners arrive early to register the night of the event.

Organizers say the Midnight Run will not be re-scheduled due to rain. The start of runs may be delayed if there is lightning in the area.

Go to the run website for more information on the race.
