3) The U.S. House of Representatives passed a deal to raise the national debt limit and reduce federal spending late Monday in Washington, D.C. The Senate votes on the bill today. If passed it then goes to President Obama for approval. The bill would swiftly grant the U.S. Treasury an extra $400 billion in borrowing room.
