Juggling your responsibilities and entertaining the kids is no easy task. Dunedin Patch is coming to the rescue, with the top family-friendly activities in the area.

Here’s a list of this week’s events you can pick and choose from.

  • Where/When: Highlander Park, 1937 Ed Eckert Drive. Wednesday at 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Children ages 5 to 11 are invited to Highlander Pool for a free swimming lesson. This is an ideal opportunity for kids who aren't swimmers to learn important swimming tips and techniques before the official classes start on April 14.
  • Free!

  • Where/When: Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 750 San Salvador Dr. Thursday at 10 a.m.
  • Why Go: Bring your little tykes to Our Lady of Lourdes Church this week for an exciting and educational music class. Created by Maryann Harman, "Music With Mar." offers fun for both kids and adults through music.
  • $7 per family.

  • Where/When: Dunedin Public Library, 223 Douglas Ave. Saturday at 2 p.m.
  • Why Go: Kids ages 10 to 15 will participate in a fun Star Wars Vs. Star Trek fan face-off with a variety of fun games and competitive activities. Prizes will be available for all participants. Registration is required.
  • Free!

  • Where/When: The Disney Store, 27001 Us Highway 19 N Ste 2048. Saturday at noon.
  • Why Go: Children ages 3 and older are invited to the Westfield Countryside Disney Store for an afternoon of exciting games and activities with the animated film, "Tangled" starring Mandy Moore as Rapunzel. Participating youngsters will receive a free activity sheet, along with other fun surprises.
  • Free!

  • Where/When: Weaver Park, 1249 Bayshore Blvd, Dunedin. Saturday at 4 p.m.
  • Why Go: Join the city of Dunedin as it celebrates the official opening of Weaver Park. Live music by the Dunedin Pipe Band and local reggae groupDeja, fine art displays and food are on the schedule following the ribbon cutting ceremony. There will also be fun arts and crafts activities for all ages.
  • Free.

Clearwater Pet Festival

  • Where/When: East Avenue and Cleveland Street- Downtown Clearwater. Saturday at 10 a.m.
  • Why Go: Puppy races, paws on parade and animal trainer demonstrations are all on tap for this outdoor event. Bring the whole family, even your four-legged pals, for an exciting day in the sun with activities for all ages. In addition to food, drinks and pet-friendly vendors, the event will feature an appearance by Sandy Clark and her skateboarding K-9, Twig!
