Low-Pressure System Tracking Toward Florida

The low-pressure zone may hit the Sunshine State mid-week, bringing gusting winds and heavy rain. Afternoon thunderstorms are in the forecast Monday-Friday.

The National Weather Service is keeping an eye on a low-pressure zone off the Yucatan Peninsula that could hit Florida mid-week, bringing heavy rain, flooding, gusty winds and tornadoes.

According to the National Weather Service, the system has the potential to cause "multiple hazards" in the Tampa Bay region this week.

Meanwhile, a hazardous weather outlook has been issued for cities across Pinellas County, including Dunedin.
