What's This Bill From Duke Energy?

Dunedin customers of Progress Energy will be introduced to a name change on Monday, April 29. Here's what you need to know.

Duke Energy is in. Progress Energy is out.

Progress Energy customers in Dunedin and across Florida will now be paying their bills to Duke Energy, which merged with Progress Energy in July 2012.

The rollout for the new name and logo for Florida customers is Monday, April 29, according to Duke Energy. Progress Energy Florida will adopt the new logo and the Duke Energy name.

Trucks and uniforms used by company employees will be identified by the name Duke Energy.

"Customers will start seeing the logo soon, but it will take a number of months for the rollout to be complete," said Ginny Mackin, Duke Energy vice president and chief communications officer, in a press release from the PR Newswire.

In March, the new logo was rolled out in the Duke Energy areas of Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and portions of North Carolina and South Carolina.

Duke Energy is the nation's largest electric utility. With almost 28,000 employees, Duke Energy's regulated utilities operate in six states and serve 7.2 million customers.
