Be a part of the annual attempt to break the Guinness World Records for the most cloth diapers changed at one time.  In 2013, the recent world record of 8,301 cloth diapers changed at one time was set at 182 qualifying locations in 15 countries!

The Great Cloth Diaper Change will take place on Saturday, April 26th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. local time.  Everyone will change diapers at the same LOCAL time, allowing the change to roll around the globe with the clock.  Join our local event and help set a new world record in 2014.

The Great Cloth Diaper Change event is meant to raise awareness of reusable cloth diapers. It is part of a larger set of efforts conducted by the Real Diaper Association, the 501(c) (3) nonprofit that advocates for and educates about the use of cloth diapers. To support this continuing work, hosts in the United States and Canada are asked to collect a donation of $1 (or more) from each participant.  You can make your donation when you register for the event or the day of the event.

Additional Information:

This event will take place at the Pinellas County Heritage Village.  This is a beautiful location with both indoor and outdoor areas for the diaper change event.  Please bring a blanket, pack a lunch, and plan on spending the day meeting other cloth diaper families in the area.

There will be swag bags for the first 50 registered participants who check-in on the day of the event.  We will also have door prizes to be handed out randomly to all registered participants after the diaper change event.  More information coming soon.

We will be accepting donations of gently used cloth diapers for the Giving Diapers, Giving Hope non-profit organization that helps educate, support and cloth diapers to low income families in the continental United States.

Guidelines for Participation:

  • Each participant (adult over the age of 18) must be paired with one child 39 inches or shorter.
  • Each child must be changed into a cloth, reusable diaper that can be purchased online, at a brick & mortar store, or is offered through a diaper service. It does not matter what type of diaper a child arrives in.
  • At the sound of a loud start signal, all participants must remove their child’s diaper and properly put on a 100% reusable cloth diaper.
  • Before the signal to start, each participant should hold the clean diaper they will change the baby into high in the air. The photographer should take “before” shots.
  • At the signal to start, each participant should change his or her child’s diaper. No photographs or video should be taken at this time.
  • When the diaper change is complete, each participant should hold their freshly changed child in the air. The photographer should take “after shots”. The timekeeper may determine when all diaper changes have occurred. There is no set amount of time within which the change should take place.
  • Any participant who does not properly complete the task must be deducted from the total.
