Starlight Concert Series

The City of Dunedin

Parks & Recreation Department presents their annual music series taking

place Friday evenings during the month of September in Highlander Park
.





The popular outdoor summer Starlight Concert

Series returns in September at Highlander Park 1920 Pinehurst Road,

Dunedin.  The Starlight series is sponsored by the Dunedin Parks

& Recreation Department every Friday night in September from 7-9pm. 

Concerts in the park are family-friendly, community oriented, and feature a

wide variety of musical styles.  

They are free to the public to attend.





Patrons can bring their own picnic dinner or

additional food and beverage will be available to purchase from Mr. Bill's Fine

Foods.   Concession food will be

available starting at 6pm and throughout the evening.  Concert goers are encouraged to bring their

own their own blankets or chairs for seating as picnic benches in the park are

limited.  Parking is available at Highlander

Park along Michigan Blvd, handicap parking is at the Dunedin Community Center

on Pinehurst Rd. and the Dunedin Fine Art Center along Michigan Blvd.  The concert schedule is as follows:

Sept 6              Fast Lane – favorite familiar classic

songs from Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, Van Morrison, The Beatles, and much more!





Sept 13            Mud Flappers – 7 piece mini orchestra

features a giant gumbo of outlaw country Johnny Cash, blue grass Earl Scruggs,

gypsy swing ‘a la Django Reinhardt, to your local jazz

Sept 20            Betty Fox Band – the dynamic quartet

creates a blues & funk-infused soul band with songs that “will pull at your

heart strings and make you dance”





Sept 27            Legendary JC’s – North American

blues/funk/ soul band – that you don’t want to miss





In case of inclement weather or for more

information, check the City's website for cancelation or call 812-4530; we

normally try to call the evening’s concert by 6:00pm.  Canceled concerts are not rescheduled due to

the limited amount of days.





With this roster of talent and beautiful outdoor

venue, the 2013 Starlight Concert Series is sure to be our biggest yet!  Bring the entire family for both great music

and atmosphere—and don’t forget to get there early as seating is first-come,

first-serve!
