"Drop Off Your Drawers" Underwear Drive for Clothes to Kids

The library has partnered with the charity Clothes to Kids, which has organized an underwear drive throughout October, culminating in a "Drop Off Your Drawers" event at its stores in Clearwater and St. Petersburg.

Clothes to Kids provides quality used and new clothing to low-income, school-age children in Pinellas County free of charge. The charity says it gives out about 1,500 pairs of new underwear each week because each child that shops at the stores receives five pairs of underwear with their CTK wardrobe.

The Dunedin Public Library has a friendly competition with the Palm Harbor Library to see which can collect the most underwear from Oct. 3 to Oct. 7 -- but visitors can drop off unopened packages of new underwear for the cause any time until Oct. 26 at the library's Youth Services desk.
