5 Things to Know Today: Tuesday, Aug. 21

Expect thunderstorms, where to find the lowest gas price, deals for the kids, and more.

1) The National Weather Service forecast: It's cooling off a bit from yesterday. Expect partly sunny skies with a high near 89. Also: showers and thunderstorms after noon (70 percent chance). Winds could reach up to 20 mph. Tonight's low is 77, with a 40 percent chance of showers or thunderstorms.

2) The lowest reported gas price in Dunedin is $3.59 (cash, regular) at the , 1001 Broadway, on TampaGasPrices.com.

3) School may be back in session, but  kids-eat-free deal is running through Aug. 31. As the deal says, kids eat free Sunday through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. so long as they have an adult present who orders a regularly-priced meal.

4) A big shout out goes to the Rotary Club of Dunedin and Dunedin Waterside Rotary Club for raising $1,200 for school supplies. The groups collected and delivered two pickup truck loads of supplies to  recently. Way to go!

5) Traffic Advisory Reminder: expect detours on Douglas Avenue between Skinner Boulevard and Main Street for several months, the city says. Crews are replacing a water main that runs underneath. (.)
