What to Know for Touch-A-Truck 2012

Organizers say "there's ... plenty to see and do" at this Saturday's annual child-friendly event at Highlander Park. Here's what to know before you go.

Organizers say Saturday's will have more interactive activities for kids this year.

This 11th annual family-friendly, hands-on showcase of trucks, cars, motorcycles, fire engines, tractors and military vehicles, just to name a few, is touted as being one of the largest of its kind in the Southeastern U.S., says event organizer Mathew Eberius.

This year's event has than 100 vehicles, which is slightly fewer than in years past, but "we added more interactive areas for the kids this year," he says, "so there’s still plenty to see and do."

Here's what to know if you go:

Where/When: , Saturday, April 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

What to Bring:

  • Camera 
  • Cash (but organizers say two ATMs will be on site — one near the food vendors in the Dunedin Fine Art Center parking lot and one near the bounce houses at the Rotary Pavilion) 

Parking: $2 at or . The Jolley Trolley will provide free shuttle service between the high school's north lot and the park. Walking distance from the high school is about 0.9 miles. 

For the Kids (aside from trucks): 

  • Bounce houses (near the Rotary Pavilion)
  • Pony rides ($5, near the Rotary Pavilion)
  • Mascots, including Ronald McDonald 
  • Face painting (near the Rotary Pavilion) 
  • The Dick Norris Kid’s Craft Zone  

More for Adults (but still for kids):

  • Live music, food vendors
  • A Dunedin Fire Department jaws-of-life extrication demonstration (noon)
  • A Sheriff’s Office Dive Team demonstration
