7:30 p.m.: Relay For Life — 14 Hours of Remembering, Celebrating & Fighting Back

A 14-hour blog detailing the events of Dunedin's 2011 Relay For Life.

Hello Patch readers! I am blogging to you live from Dunedin's Relay For Life 2011, here at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium, which is located at the corner of Beltrees Street and Douglas Avenue, just a few blocks from Downtown Dunedin.

If you've never been a part of Relay before, now is your chance to come out and support the American Cancer Society's signature fundraising event, helping to raise funds for lifesaving education and resources for both those affected by cancer and those who are caregivers.

The event is open to the public from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., so come on down! It's free!! There are so many activities happening and lots of awesome entertainment as well. Food is being cooked all around me and we are right now having a great time drumming to the sounds of Steve Turner with Giving Tree Music. What an amazing sound!

Awesome event, awesome cause. We just had a great Opening Ceremony featuring Mayor Dave Eggers, Vice Mayor Ron Barnette and cancer survivor Bill White.
