Week of July 9: What’s Going on at the Library?

Look what you can do at the Library this week!

A Dunedin Friends of the Library member brought me a bunch of old magazines today – she knows my daughter teaches art and can use these for collages.  The Friend told me these magazines were too old to sell, but that the Bookstore is always looking for up-to-date magazines to sell.  Current issue magazines sell for 25 cents in the Dunedin Friends of the Library Bookstore in our lobby. All other magazines (a large variety) sell for 10 cents each.  If you have current (this year’s) magazines that you are finished with, please drop them off with a staff member at the door at the  back of the Library Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and you know they will go to good use!

Take a few minutes while you are at the Library to visit the Bookstore!  Paper backs are 25 to 50 cents each and hard back books run $1, $2 or $3 each. During the month of July, the large print hard back books are half price!  The friendly volunteer who was manning the Bookstore today told me they have lots of half price sales all the time! I also saw puzzles, cds, cassettes and tons of children’s books all for way under a dollar.  The Bookstore is open when the Library is open — every day!

The best thing about the Bookstore (besides the materials!) is that the Friends give us the money they make so that we can provide fun and entertaining as well as educational programming for you!  If you have attended any adult, teen or children’s programming at the Dunedin Public Library, the Dunedin Friends of the Library have sponsored (paid) for it!  That is why everything we do at the Library is free for you.  We appreciate the Dunedin Friends of the Library for their generous hearts and hard work.
