Best Veterinarian: Vote For Your Favorite!

Which local veterinarian do you think is the best? Vote for your favorite in our 2012 Readers' Choice poll below.

Summer is here, and everybody's looking for something new to do. What better time to revisit the best local hot spots in Dunedin?

Until July 8, we collected nominations for Readers' Choice 2012 in 25 categories, from who has the best happy hour in town to which zoo is the best in the Tampa Bay area. Voting begins July 23 and runs until 11:59 p.m. on Aug. 17.

The following poll comes from nominations made by Dunedin Patch users and a few of our suggestions.

Don't forget to vote for your other favorites in the other 24 categories, too!

Dr. Wade Matthews, Animal Hospital of Dunedin = Takes great care of our pets. Never seems too busy to explain, return calls and offer options.

Don't forget Tara Valentine at Dr. Murphy's office too! SHE IS THE BESTEST OF THE BEST! Moose, Pabilto and Cecilia - BTW does this count for three votes since the other two have a hard time typing with all that paw fur??????

Dunedin Animal Medical Center and Pet Resort without a doubt, Dr. Parra and her staff are wonderful! First time that we've had an office that made our dogs feel comfortable (as they could be)! Love them!

I'm sure they are all wonderful vets, but Dr. Woodman at Northwood Animal Hospital is truly special. Wonderful care for my boys and girl over the past 16 years.
Janet August 06, 2012 at 07:28 PM
Absolutely! She is so in tune with cats! She's saved my little girl's life! She knew exactly what was wrong every time we've been to her. And, is CARING & INFORMATIVE. What else can you ask for?

Dr. Metzler gets my vote - he and his staff are a genuinely caring bunch of folks - I trust them with my most precious "kids" (my cats Dexter and Dusty) and I highly recommend them.

Dr. Woodman at Animal Hospital of Northwood is wonderful. He took care of my dog Clark for 10 years. When I finally had to make that hard decision to put Clark to sleep Dr Woodman and his staff were so wonderful and kind. My Hubby & I recently adopted a kitten and our choice of vets was very easy. I also referred my Sister and her 3 dogs to Dr Woodman. He takes his time to explain everything and is kind and caring to both the pet and owner. His staff is professional and kind. I will be a loyal client for life.

Dr Woodman at Animal Hospital of Northwood hands down!!!!!! So caring and understanding. Always takes time to make sure you're in the loop and comfortable wih everything. My very nervous boy is always calm around him. That says more to me than I ever could.

Diane Perry- Broadway cat hospital - I am being held captive at my computer by my five cats until I state in this comment that Dr Diane Perry is by far the warmest and kindest Cat Doctor in this area. It is an amazing feat to get these cats all to agree on one thing, but Diane Perry truly is the most compassionate and understanding Vet we have ever worked with. Her approach on the caring of Cats is a step above any care we have received elsewear. Her office does only accept cats, which is why I understand not many dog owners sending their vote this way, but by far if you are seeking a vet with Brains, a soft touch with your cat and a heart of gold, it would have to be Dr.Diane Perry. ...And my cats wanted to add that she has very warm hands!
Melissa August 16, 2012 at 11:39 AM
Dr. Snow with Main Street Animal Hospital is perhaps one of the most knowledgeable veterinarians I have come across in the behavior and psychological arenas of pets. She really takes the time to listen and then figures out the best approach. Would highly recommend her.
Nancy Lynam August 16, 2012 at 03:11 PM
I agree with your cats, Patricia Ann, I take my dogs to Dr Maththews, but my two elderly cats have only seen Dr Perry. She is great.

Vets are so important in the care of your animal. Why make the choice to find the cheapest rather than the best. Usually everyone's prices are very competitive. http://www.amctallahassee.com
