This week, we thank Richie Bowman for his comment on Residents Dissolve Lyndhurst Street Neighborhood Watch.

The story of a group that disbanded its neighborhood watch after several months of coming together stirred emotional comments from neighbors frustrated by what they perceive as a lack of support from law enforcement.

We appreciate how Bowman encouraged both the frustrated residents and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office to continue to push through the high emotion and frustrating times for the longterm good of the community.

We like to hear your stories, and of course we greatly appreciate it when you agree to disagree in a respectful manner. And Bowman's comment surely showed empathy and respect to everyone.

He said:

Obivously the Sheriff's Dept. and the Neighborhood Watch Group are both Frustrated! Now is not the time to dissolve. There is a saying in the Marines - When the going gets tough-the tough get going! Both forementioned groups should keep at it. I hope there is a Dec 6th meeting. That is the only way!

What do you think about his words of encouragement?
