Thanks, Jayne, Commenter of the Week

We love when our readers share their opinions. Of course, we appreciate it when people agree to disagree, post important questions and share personal stories.

This week, we appreciate  for all of her comments.

Jayne commented on three stories this week, which is awesome, but something she said in the comment section of  really caught our eye.

The story shed light on a soccer field in Dunedin that is plagued with a nematode infestation. The city contractor was just about to use a common pesticide to treat the problem, but postponed it after a neighbor raised environmental and health concerns.

Here's what Jayne had to say ... or really, what Jayne had to ask:

According to the above article, the soccer team will need the use of a field soon. Sustainable methods of reducing nematode populations take some time, so another field is needed for the team. Any suggestions for an alternate location for the teams use?

We love Jayne's comment for two major reasons.

  1. She followed our Terms of Use, and
  2. She approached a controversial issue in a constructive and problem-solving manner.

Thank you, Jayne, for your respectful commenting. We really dig your Patchy approach!

With our nations' urgent need to overhaul the health care system and each persons' need to deal withRead More increasing health care costs/decreasing quality of care, volunteering for SHINE could be part of the answer. The more you know, the better equipped you are to make postive changes for yourself and others. If, like me, you feel frustrated with the FL Legislature which seems to be working against us rather than for us; volunteering with organizations that educate the public in essential areas of concern can be an effective way to create grassroots changes. SHINE offers exceptional training and effectively updates it's volunteers regarding changes in the healthcare system. Sign up for thier training and you're sure to want to pass on what you learn to others.
