Vehicle in Palm Harbor Shooting Last Seen Traveling South on Belcher Road

Man injured in the face while watching TV in his home, vehicle and gunman still at large.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a vehicle involved in a Palm Harbor shooting Feb. 6 that injured a man while he was watching TV in his home.

Deputies report that witnesses described the vehicle as a white, four-door, small-sized pickup truck with mag chrome rims and blue auxiliary-type lighting on the dash.

William James Freeman, 40, of Palm Harbor was injured in the face at about 6:40 p.m. Sunday when bullets fired from a nearby apartment complex parking lot went through the wall of his home. Two vehicles in the parking lot were also struck, the Sheriff’s Department reports.

The man was taken to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.Deputies say Freeman’s home is about 500 to 600 feet from the Cypress Lakes Apartment parking lot where the shooting occurred.

Deputies believe that the shots may have been fired from within the vehicle as it was moving. Witnesses reported seeing the truck leave the apartment complex parking lot and head southbound on Belcher Road.
