Deputies: Stolen Card Used for $100 Cash Back on $1 Gum Purchase

Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies arrested and charged a Dunedin woman for using a stolen debit card to purchase a $1.03 pack of gum and $100 cash back from Walmart in Oldsmar.

A Dunedin woman is accused of using a debit card from a stolen wallet to make more than $168 in purchases on March 6.

Katrina R. Kegelman, 20, of 521 Wood St., is accused of stealing the victim's wallet and using a Wells Fargo debit card inside to make three purchases, Pinellas County Sheriff's arrest records indicate.

She was witnessed purchasing a pack of gum for $1.03 and receiving $100 cash back from an Oldsmar Walmart shortly before 10:30 p.m. on March 6, according to Pinellas County Sheriff's arrest records.

She also reportedly made two other purchases that day — $4.56 at Hess and $62.95 at Walmart.

Kegelman was arrested on the felony charge of fraudulent use of a credit card on March 8. Kegelman was released on bond.
