Domestic Dispute Ends with K9 Pursuit to Dunedin Library

The trail of a May 18 domestic dispute went from a Dunedin bar to a private residence and ended when a sheriff's K9 located the accused at the Dunedin Public Library.

A Dunedin man who fled after a domestic dispute that started at a bar was captured with the help of a Pinellas County Sheriff's K9 early May 18.

Christopher Michael Dischino, 32, of the 500 block of Richmond Street, escaped through the back of his home when authorities arrived at the front door on a domestic dispute call around 2 a.m. Saturday.

Dischino had gotten into a dispute before leaving a Dunedin bar, arrest records indicate. He went home and continued the argument, during which time he is accused of battering the victim, sitting on top of the victim and preventing the victim from using a personal cell phone to call 911.

Dischino later told deputies he ran because he knew he had a warrant out for his arrest.

Records also show that Dischino exhibited signs of being under the influence of alcohol.

The victim had minor scratches and bruises, deputies report.

Dischino surrendered and was arrested at 2:27 a.m. on May 18. He is charged with felony tampering with a witness and the following misdemeanors: domestic battery, resisting arrest without violence and obtaining property in return for a worthless check.

He was released on his own recognizance on May 19.
