Dunedin Man Charged in Undercover Narcotics Investigation

On Dec. 18, Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies arrested a man whom they allege to have sold marijuana from his Dunedin home in June during the course of an undercover narcotics investigation.

A Dunedin man was arrested and slapped with felony charges for selling drugs in June, according to authorities.

George Franklin Hauk Jr, 22, of 2205 Stacy Court, allegedly sold 56 cumulative grams of marijuana on three separate occasions during the course of an undercover narcotics investigation, Pinellas County Sheriff's records say.

County arrest records indicate that Hauk sold:

  • 28 grams of marijuana for $370 on June 6 at his home,
  • 14 grams of marijuana for $180 on June 14 at his home, and
  • 14 grams of marijuana for $190 on June 27 near the corner of Wilshire Drive and Palmetto Court.

Investigators used department money to buy the marijuana, according to arrest records.

Hauk was arrested and charged with three counts of felony sale of marijuana, as well as three counts of misdemeanor possession of marijuana Dec. 18. He was released on a more than $15,000 surety bond on Dec. 19.

Investigative costs associated with Hauk's arrest total $1,395.

Poor guy was doing a community service. How about we work on getting the thieves and violent people off the street first? Stop taking part in the corrupt arresting of our young people for a non-violent activity that harms no one. It's great to see some states finally admitting the madness and putting a stop to it. 58% of the country says it should be legal. C'mon Feds, quit pandering to big tobacco, alcohol, and organized crime because they donate the most campaign money. Remember who you were elected to represent - the people, and not just the wealthy ones. It is both fraudulent and corrupt to be incarcerating our young people for what comes down to profit. Sickeningly corrupt.

56 cumulative grams of pot? Are you kidding me? Why are my tax dollars being wasted on this petty activity?

Selling drugs on the street is not a community service. Drug dealers deserve to do hard time in the state pen. Congrats to the lawmen for cleaning up the streets and jailing the dope smoking potheads.

I agree selling drugs on the street is not a community service and should be punishable by law. However, Marijuana should never have been classified as an illegal substance. It is a natural growing herb.

This is ridiculous! Go out and get the people selling actual dangerous drugs!

Totally agree, Cap'n!
