Dunedin to Celebrate National Night Out on Aug. 7

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri will be on hand, along with members of local neighborhood watch groups, at this free cookout celebration.

Dunedin is gearing up to host its National Night Out Celebration on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualtieri will address the attendees at 6:30 p.m. at 631 Lyndhurst St., where sponsors Target and the new Lyndhurst Street Neighborhood Watch Group will be hosting a cookout.

Residents are invited to come celebrate and meet members of local neighborhood watch groups and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

National Night Out is entering its 29th year of celebrations all around the country. Organizers say the event is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police/community partnerships and send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
