After knocking on front doors until no one answered, three suspects hopped a fence during a burglary attempt Thursday afternoon on Fife Court.
Deputies apprehended three juveniles who were fleeing the home near Dunedin High School.
The juveniles reportedly knocked on a neighbor's door first a little before 1 p.m. Thursday. When the neighbor answered the door, they asked him if he had lost a dog.
The neighbor told deputies that he noticed the suspects walk to another home and knock on the door, according to authorities. When no one answered, the suspects were seen walking to the back of the house. They reportedly jumped a six-foot privacy fence and entered through a doggie door.
The suspects were fleeing the home when deputies arrived. The stolen property — an iPod, ear buds and headphones — were recovered, according to deputies.
Names of the suspects were withheld because they are juveniles.
They were charged with residential burglary, according to Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies.
