Robbery, Beating Suspect Captured

Sheriff's detained Chase Matthew Brown in connection with the July robbery and beating of a Tarpon Springs man.

Detectives arrested a third suspect in connection with a July robbery and beating in Clearwater.

Clearwater Police announced that they were looking for , 19, of Dunedin on Saturday (Aug. 20). Pinellas County Sheriff’s arrested him Wednesday (Aug. 24).

Police reported that Melody Michelle Sanders, 20, lured Steven A. Carrigan, 20, of Tarpon Springs, to the 2600 block of Seville Boulevard, where Timothy Hugh Miller, 18, and Brown reportedly beat him on July 26. They stole his pants, which contained an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Carrigan reportedly met Sanders while in jail and they decided to hang out once they were released, authorities said.

Carrigan met up with Sanders and a female witness whose name is not being released, police report.

Carrigan received serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

Brown is in custody with one misdemeanor charge of obstruction and six felony charges related to battery, robbery, carrying a concealed firearm and using violence to resist an officer. His bond is set at $20,150.

Brown was previously arrested on Aug. 10, and later released, on nine felony charges related to armed burglary, possession of a firearm and using violence to resist an officer.
