Robbery Suspects Charged in Shooting Death of Bicyclist

Clearwater police charged men they believe are involved in the September shooting death of a Clearwater bicyclist, occurring just 45 minutes after a robbery in Dunedin.

Authorities have charged two brothers in the September riding her bicycle in Clearwater just 45 minutes after they are suspected of robbing a person in Dunedin.

Clearwater homicide detectives announced today that they charged Isidro Santiago Jones, 20, and Carlos Benito Jones, 25, both of Clearwater, with killing Zorana Lebedic.

Lebedic, 34, was killed at Fairburn Avenue and Palmetto Street while riding her bicycle late on Sept. 25. She was shot in the upper body around 11 p.m., just 45 minutes after the brothers are believed to have robbed a person of their cell phone at gunpoint in Dunedin.

Clearwater police believe the brothers used the same gun in a double shooting death at Cherry Harris Park in Clearwater on Oct. 15.

Pinellas County Sheriff’s deputies took the two men into custody on unrelated charges in November and October, respectively.

The men are being held in Pinellas County Jail. They are facing first- and second-degree murder charges for their suspected involvement in the shooting deaths at Fairburn and Palmetto on Sept. 25 and Cherry Harris Park on Oct. 15.
