Brekke Inez Cramer is accused of wielding a knife during a domestic dispute that escalated when the victim tried to take her dog, authorities report.

A Dunedin woman is in jail after authorities say she stabbed a man during a domestic dispute, and then drove him to the hospital early Wednesday, authorities report.

Brekke Inez Cramer, 23, of the 1400 block of San Mateo Drive, is accused of wielding a knife during an argument that escalated when the victim tried to take her dog, Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies report.

Pinellas County arrest records indicate that Cramer was involved in a domestic dispute May 22 around 9:30 a.m., when the victim tried to take Cramer's dog.

That is when Cramer, who told authorities that she is three months pregnant, jumped on the victim's back, causing his shirt to rip as she tried to get him to release the dog, arrest records indicate.

The victim got into a car, and Cramer jumped onto the hood and began stabbing it with a knife, deputies report. The victim got out of the car to remove her from the hood, at which time, Cramer allegedly stabbed the victim in the upper chest with a three-inch blade, according to records.

She then drove the victim to the Mease Dunedin Hospital, arrest records say.

Both the victim and Cramer received medical treatment for injuries.

Cramer admitted to stabbing the victim after receiving her Miranda rights, according to arrest records.

Cramer also allegedly told deputies that she stabbed the victim so she could get away, but that she did not realize she still had the knife in her hand, arrest records say.

Deputies indicated that it was unclear if the woman was suffering from mental health issues.

Cramer was arrested and charged with domestic-related, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a felony. She is in custody at Pinellas County Jail on $25,000 bond.
