Ten-Year-Old Girl Shot By Mother Dies

Officials confirm that Kassidie Rae McMillin died after being taken off life support.

Kassidie Rae McMillin, the 10-year-old girl Thursday night (May 12), died Saturday morning (May 14).

According to detectives, Kassidie suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound by her mother , who then turned the gun on herself.

Kassidie was airlifted to Bayfront Medical Center for life threatening injuries after the shooting. She underwent surgery and was transported to All Chldren's Hospital.

Officials said she died late this morning after being taken off life support. 

The shooting happened in the Foster home in Windemere Apartments at the 1700 block on Main Street.

Foster's husband William Foster, who is Kassidie’s stepfather, found them both shot. Deputies arrived around 10:41 p.m. Thursday (May 12) and pronounced Foster dead.

Tina Marie Foster would have turned 40 years old Friday, the day after the shooting.

Her daughter Kassidie was a student at .
