County Redistricting: Commissioners Want Your Opinion

Pinellas County Commissioners are inviting residents to give their opinions about proposed boundaries for county commission districts. The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Tonight is your chance to speak out about proposed changes to the boundaries for Pinellas County Commission districts.

Every 10 years, county governments are required to reevaluate commission district boundaries. Pinellas County Commissioners have maps showing possible changes to the boundaries and they want to know your opinion.

According to the U.S. Census, Pinellas County's population has decreased and shifted very little. As a result, county staff has recommended only minor changes to the current boundaries to be effective for the 2012 elections.
