The language on the ballot will look like this:

Shall the City Charter, pursuant to Ordinance 12-16, be amended to provide that the Vice-Mayor shall be selected annually on a rotating basis at the first regular meeting of the City Commission following the date of the regular election, unless there are extenuating circumstances?

This question is asking voters if the commission should select the vice mayor every year on a rotating basis.

As it stands, the charter requires the commissioners to select a vice mayor from among themselves on an annual basis. As an unofficial tradition, the city commission has rotated the seat among themselves.

A "yes" vote would require them by city law to rotate the title among themselves on an annual basis.
