Amendment 3: Providing for Appointment or Removal of the City Clerk by Four-Fifths Vote

The language on the ballot will look like this:

Shall the City Charter, pursuant to Ordinance 12-18, be amended to provide that the City Clerk shall be appointed or removed by a four-fifths vote of the City Commission and that the City Clerk's compensation shall be determined by the City Commission?

This question is asking voters if it should be more difficult to fire or hire the city clerk. As it stands, the city charter requires a majority (3-5) commission vote to remove or appoint a person to the city clerk position.

A "yes" vote would mean it would require more conensus — a super majority (4-5) commission vote — to either remove or appoint a person to the city clerk's position.
