Dunedin Marina Slip Rates To Increase

City officials are proposing an increase in marina slip rates this fall.

Monthly slip rental rates are probably going up this fall.

Rates on the smallest slips to increase by $5.39 a month and the largest ones to increase by $44.94 a month, according to city documents.

The proposed increase, coming to city commissioners for approval Aug. 1, would take effect Oct. 1.

City officials are proposing a few pennies increase a square foot, based on use, that would replenish $35,000 a year to the city's capital fund, which is currently being used to pay for $480,000 seawall renovations and an upcoming dredging project.

The rates would increase as follows:

  • 3 and a half cents a square foot for recreational slips
  • 4 cents a square foot for commercial slips
The Marina Advisory Committee supports the increased rates. The last slip rate increase occurred in October 2010. At that time, the cost increased $20 a month for each slip, according to city documents.
