A $15.4 million repaving project along U.S. 19 from Clearwater to Tarpon Springs is set to begin soon.

As construction crews prepare to tackle the job, the Florida Department of Transportation says motorists can expect some lane closures to go along with the work between Countryside Boulevard and East Live Oak Street. The impending closures are necessary, a FDOT media release said, to make sure the roadway remains safe during construction.

The project is anticipated to take about a year to complete and will also include the replacement of the Nebraska Avenue intersection traffic signals in Palm Harbor.
