A $15.4 million repaving project along U.S. 19 from Clearwater to Tarpon Springs is set to begin soon.

As construction crews prepare to tackle the job, the Florida Department of Transportation says motorists can expect some lane closures to go along with the work between Countryside Boulevard and East Live Oak Street. The impending closures are necessary, a FDOT media release said, to make sure the roadway remains safe during construction.

The project is anticipated to take about a year to complete and will also include the replacement of the Nebraska Avenue intersection traffic signals in Palm Harbor.

More specific closing information will be released by FDOT as the project progresses.

Of course, make more construction going right into The Season with double the cars in the area. I guess I will stay home until March next year at least (lol)

Wouldn't it be wiser to finish the projects they are presumably already working on (don't see much progress) in Clearwater? There is still a lot going on south of Gulf-to-Bay to Belleair. The new situation at Enterprise and US 19 is very hazardous without a traffic light. While I appreciate that when driving north, trying to turn north on 19 from Enterprise by Office Depot is scary, with no traffic lights to delay the flow at the previous places, like Sunset Point. Now they have put barriers up making things even harder.
