Your Primary Ballot Is in the Mail, If Requested by Aug. 8

Primary Day is Aug. 14. Here's a way to avoid the lines and hassle.

Pinellas County Supervisor of Elections Deborah Clark announces that 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8 is the deadline to request that a ballot be mailed for the Aug. 14 Primary Election.

How convenient is that. But be forewarned:

After that deadline, the ballots will not be mailed out. Voters may still pick up ballots at any Supervisor of Elections office and vote in the office or return their voted ballots by mail or in person.

All ballots must be received in any Supervisor of Elections Office or any of the 14 ballot dropoff locations by 7 p.m. Election Day. Mail ballots cannot be accepted at a polling place.

Florida is a “closed primary” state; only voters registered with a political party are eligible to vote in that party’s primary. All registered voters may vote in the nonpartisan judicial and school board contests.
