When did you start wrestling?

“My seventh-grade year. I started to wrestle in New York [when I went to live there for two years]. It just seemed interesting. I wasn’t going to do it, but my friend got me interested.”

What’s your favorite part of the sport?

“Probably that you can legally beat people up.”

What do you consider your career highlight?

“I was a three-time district champion and two-time state qualifier, and I’m hoping to place [this year]. If I do, that’ll be a big highlight.”

What’s the hardest part of your sport?

“Probably conditioning. It’s more mental – getting your mind mentally prepared for a match.”

What gets you pumped before a match?

“Listening to music – rap, country, Taylor Swift.”
