Blue Jays vs. Yankees Spring Training Preview

Toronto's Henderson Alvarez starts against New York's Freddy Garcia at 1:05 p.m. today.

The Toronto Blue Jays face the New York Yankees at home for the second time in Grape Fruit League season play today. 

The Blue Jays wil start Henderson Alvarez on the mound (for the third time this spring), according to MLB.com.

Alvarez, a righty, pitched 112 innings for the Dunedin Blue Jays in 2010, and only 8 innings last year before moving up to the Double-A New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

The Yankees are starting Freddy Garcia who is competing to be the team's fifth starter, according to MLB.com.

The Blue Jays defeated the Yankees 6-1 in their first contest of the season at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium on March 8. After today's game, they will face each other one more time on March 27 in Tampa.
