D-Jays Score Five In the First, Route The Tigers
Drew Hutchison makes his second successful start in the Florida State League.
The D-Jays came out bats a-blazing on Friday (July 1), scoring five runs in the first and whipping the Lakeland Flying Tigers 6-0.
Brian Van Kirk's bases-loaded double was the big blow. The red hot Brad McElroy knocked him in with a single and scored on an error.
The Jays sent 11 men to the plate.

Drew Hutchison has yet to allow an earned run in his first 12 innings in the Florida State League. On Friday, the 20-year-old was the beneficiary of the best D-Jays fielding display this season. Third baseman Kevin Ahrens and second baseman Ivan Contreras produced eight defensive gems.
After taking two out of three series matchups from Lakeland, the D-Jays will host the Daytona Cubs for a two-game series. First pitch today (July 2) is 6 p.m. and Sunday (July 3) is 4 p.m. Saturday's probable starter for the Jays will be Toronto Blue Jay Dustin McGowan. This will be McGowan's first start since July 2008.
Need to Know: Justin Jackson made his way to New Hampshire Double-A for the second time this year. In his first trip, he saw little playing time.
