The Shark Bite Challenge is a weekend-long paddling event at Honeymoon Island State Park. The event features 6-person Hawaiian Outrigger canoe races, as well as kayak, canoe and paddleboard races. The race courses will be held just off the coast of Honeymoon and Caladesi Island State Parks. The Shark Bite Challenge is a fundraiser for the Friends of the Island Parks, a citizen support organization (and non-profit), that supports the efforts of Caladesi and Honeymoon Island State Parks. The Challenge works in conjunction with the Island Earth Days festival. With registration, all racers receive a dry-fit t-shirt, lunch, and VIP seating at the festival.
