Game Report: Cubs Shut Down Jays Rally

Dewayne Wise leads Blue Jays offense.

Daytona Cubs pitching staff — second in the Florida State League — controlled the Dunedin Blue Jay bats for the second consecutive game. The final score in Easter Sunday's matinee at was 5-3.

What offense the Blue Jays had, came from 33-year-old Dewayne Wise. The 8-year Major Leaguer, hit a home run in his first plate appearance, then doubled and walked. Dwayne is most remembered for his remarkable catch in the ninth inning that preserved Mark Buehrle's perfect game for the Chicago White Sox on June 2, 2010.

The Daytona Cubs this year are lead by what scouts say is the best positional player in the Florida State League, Jae-Hoon Ha. Today he homered and threw out a base runner at the plate during a Jay rally in the eighth.

These two teams at 7 p.m. The Blue Jays will send another of their promising young pitchers, Asher Wojciechowski, to the mound. The former Citadel pitcher is certainly someone to watch.
