Dunedin Firefighter to Play Pros in Charity Football Game

The Tampa Bay Sentinels, which is a full contact football team comprised of law enforcement and other first responders, play the Tampa Bay Storm for charity.

One of Dunedin's local heroes is set to square off against some professional football players for a good cause.

The National Public Safety Football League's Tampa Bay Sentinels go up against Arena Football League's Tampa Bay Storm in the third annual charity flag football game. This year, money raised at the game benefits the MacDonald Training Center.

"Whenever you have a chance to entertain and give back to the community, it's a great thing," said vice president of football operations Jeff Gooch in a press release. "We are all looking forward to getting out there, playing some football, and having fun with our local heroes."

The past two years, the teams have played a charity game to benefit the Kocab Curtis Foundations and Fallen Firefighter Survivors Foundation.

"We are pleased that the Storm and Sentinels will once again play a fun-filled, family-friendly, game of football to benefit the MacDonald Training Center and support our community," said Sentinels general manager, Rex Sano, in a release.
