Join Patch at the D-Jays' Chili Cook-Off Sunday

Dunedin Patch is entering a chili in the Dunedin Blue Jays' long-awaited cook-off. Fans can enjoy all-you-can-eat chili sampling and vote for their favorite on Sunday. All proceeds go to a good cause. Gates open at 4 p.m.

Local editor Katie Dolac is tying back her apron strings on Sunday afternoon, thanks to the Dunedin Blue Jays.

She'll be whipping up a batch of her ol' family chili recipe for you to taste in the to benefit RCS Food Bank in Clearwater.

Her Patch editor friends from Clearwater, Palm Harbor and Largo will also be there, either impressed by the brilliance of her secret ingredient or mocking her attempt at something edible. Even though they are helping to make it, they are tough critics and there'll be professional competitors, so we'll need you there to be the real judge (cough, cough, did we mention it's all-you-can-eat taste sampling?).

So, bring yo' kids, bring yo' parents, bring yo' wives, bring yo' husbands. Patch would appreciate all of their votes on Sunday. (And we're not too proud to trade free Patch swag for votes!)

To get in on the chili tasting, purchase a $10 wristband at the gate. Cost includes entry into the Jays' game against the Charlotte Stone Crabs and it benefits the RCS Food Bank. Kids 12 and under can sample for $5.
