Amazing Generosity in Food Drive

We're almost done tallying the final pounds, but we're pretty sure YOU helped us DOUBLE our 2,000-pound goal for Feeding America Tampa Bay.

We're still tabulating the final tonnage from the that ended May 31. (That's right, tonnage.)

Our goal was to raise one ton (or 2,000 pounds) of non-perishible food for hungry families in the Tampa Bay region with the help of readers across all 19 Patch sites (including Dunedin).

You may have seen us making some of those food donation pickups in our giant . Our last weigh-in with Feeding America Tampa Bay put us hovering around two tons (or 4,000 pounds of food) — with about half of that weight coming from North Pinellas alone (Dunedin, Palm Harbor, Clearwater and Largo). And we couldn't have done it without you!

From the bottom of our heart, THANK YOU to all who donated. We are filled with great humility and overwhelming gratitude. Also, a special thanks goes to our food drive partners. With their help, we were all able to crush Patch's goal!

We have just a few donation boxes left to tally, but we'll let you know just as soon as we can how much food we netted for hungry families.
