Dunedin Weekender: Back-to-School Pool Party, Pirates in Dunedin

Looking for things to do in Dunedin this weekend? Look no further.

BACK-TO-SCHOOL PARTY: Make a splash at the Back-to-School Pool Party Friday. Enjoy games, picnic dinner, backpack raffles and more. Admission is $2.

The water bash is at Dunedin Highlander Pool, 1937 Ed Eckert Dr.

PIRATES INVADE DUNEDIN HISTORICAL MUSEUM: Check out the Pirates exhibit at the Dunedin Historical Museum. Learn more about shipwrecks and pirates in Florida. Admission is $2. The museum, 349 Main Street, is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

 INFANT & CHILD CPR CLASS: Retired Firefighter Chuck Bartlett will teach infant and child CPR at Sweet Peas, 434 Virginia Lane, Saturday morning.  Cost is $30 per person for the 90-minute class.

TARPON SPRINGS HIPPIE FEST AND FOOD TRUCK RALLY: Break out your tie dye and have a groovy time beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 17, at the Sponge Docks in downtown Tarpon Springs. There will be a VW Bug show, hula hoop contest and live music, but it's not all about throwbacks — enjoy the latest food truck trend, plus other vendors and more. 98 ROCK PRESENTS: BIG NIGHT OUT: Rock out with Fuel, Hoobastank, Alien Ant Farm and Local H starting at 11 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 18, at Vinoy Park, 701 Bayshore Drive NE, in St. Petersburg. Tickets start as low as 98 cents and go up to $29.50 for VIP reserved seating. The concert is a fundraiser for Historic St. Pete, a group trying to save St. Pete's historic YMCA.
