Tonight's low is 72. 2) The lowest reported gas in Dunedin is $3.64 at two stations: The Super Shop (cash, regular) at 1001 Broadway, and St. George Gas Service (cash, regular) at 2000 Bayshore Blvd, according to TampaGasPrices.com. 3) The Dunedin Public Library starts its month-long children's underwear drive today! Drop off new packages of children's underwear at the Youth Services Desk during regular library hours through Oct. 24. Six races including Pinellas County Sheriff, US House Dist. 13, Pinellas County School Board took part in a forum in Gulfport.
The Gulfport Democratic Club and St. Petersburg Club hosted a Meet the Candidates Forum at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom Thursday night. Almost all of the 19 candidates invited attended the event, they included: Pinellas County Sheriff Candidates Bob Gualtieri and Scott Swope debated about the elimination of the fugitive section of the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office. Gualtieri maintains that the decision saved money. "We are arresting people on fugitive warrants and we’re doing it effectively and cost efficiently," Gualtieri said. Swope said if elected he would reinstate the fugitive section and fund it with money that is already available. "We can reallocate the services from one place to another," Swope said. City candidates will answer questions from voters at a forum set for Sept. 26. Mayoral candidates Dave Eggers and Bob Hackworth and Commission Seat 3 candidates David Carson and Heather Gracy will answer questions solicited from voters in advance as they are drawn randomly next Wednesday. Information about several proposed amendments to the City of Dunedin Charter, including the possibility of term limits, will also be made available. To submit a question for the candidates, be sure it is applicable to all of them, and then, email it to Lynn Wargo or Jim Graham.
