Tampa Bay Beer Week is almost here, and Dunedin knows how to celebrate. Several local establishments, including Dunedin Brewery, Dunedin Smokehouse, Luekens Liquor and Dunedin House of Beer, have events planned in honor of area beer lovers' favorite week, which officially lasts from March 2-10. The Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos gave his picks to The Toronto Star, but do Dunedin residents agree?
When it comes to wining and dining in Dunedin, you can be faced with some Major League choices. Leave that to Toronto Blue Jays general manager Alex Anthopoulos. The Blue Jays general manager gave The Toronto Star his picks for the best places in Dunedin, giving this Florida Spring Training city some great exposure in Canada's largest newspaper. He said some nice things about Dunedin, though joking that when he first arrived here 10 years ago, “I didn’t know anything about Dunedin,” he told The Star. He called Dunedin a "cute town," and mentions how the team stays at the Innisbrook in Palm Harbor for its Spring Training at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium. After an “exhaustive” survey of almost 20 bars in the downtown area of Dunedin, we found that there are differences in price, amenities and food or snack offerings as well as different hours for Happy Hour depending upon the business. Most of us frequent a particular bar for one or more of the following reasons: the bartender, ambience, friendly atmosphere and it's where our friends hang out. People usually describe a great bartender as having an infectious personality, remembers what we like to drink and attentive to our needs (like when we need refills!). Ambience covers such things as decor, cleanliness, comfortable seating and views. Friendly atmosphere covers whether or not the place has a “happy vibe.” We also like to go where our …

They're both missing a few of the best casual places like Eddie's for wings and Juan's for mexican. And, a very BIG oversight - Cafe Alfresco for best all around atmosphere and quality food. I'm sure, I'm also missing some of my favorites - so many to enjoy and so little time.   more ›
