Take a listen to Adam Quinn of Clearwater, a world-class bagpiper, perform a rousing number at a local pub.
Bagpipe virtuoso Adam Quinn gives a rousing performance at Flanagan's Pub in Dunedin in this YouTube video posted on May 11. Kandi Bryant, owner of Dunedin Brewery, bought raffle tickets in hopes of winning a set of bagpipes to make up for a set her son lost 12 years ago.
It may have taken 12 years, but karma finally came back around for the Bryant family. Kandi Bryant, owner of Dunedin Brewery, bought three raffle tickets in hopes of winning a $1,600 set of McCallum bagpipes from Lothian Kilt Rentals and Bagpipe Supplies for a City of Dunedin Pipe Band fundraiser in September. Her son Michael Bryant, 29, had lost his new $850 set in April 2000, when he was just 16. He drove off after punk band practice with them still sitting on the back of his van. In what was believed to be a serendipitous turn of events, a St. Petersburg Times reporter connected them with a truck driver from Illinois who was placing a "found" ad in Times classifieds for their missing set, according to an April 13, 2000 story in the St. …

Florida's oldest craft brewery made its debut over the weekend at the well-known beer festival in Portland.
Dunedin Brewery made a splash at this past weekend's Oregon Brewers Festival in Portland. The Douglas Avenue craft brewery, Florida's oldest, was one of more than 80 participants at the annual festival, which celebrated its 25th anniversary July 26-29. Dunedin Brewery offered its "FL-Oregon Trail," brewed specifically for the event, as it made its festival debut. "We got a great reception from the drinkers at the fest, with our beer running out early each afternoon," brewery general manager Michael Bryant wrote in an email from the road Monday. "We also had one of the longest lines at the event, which really made us feel welcome in the Northwest." Beer blog Brewpublic tapped the American-style India Pale Ale, brewed with orange peel and …

In these five things, you'll see how Dunedin is making it really easy to de-clutter your house before Super Bowl Sunday.
1) Need to fill up on the cheap? The lowest reported gas price in Dunedin is $3.44 (cash, regular) at the Super Shop, 1001 Broadway (TampaGasPrices.com). 2) The library is making it really convenient to donate your gently used books, DVDs, music CDs and puzzles on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Just pull up to the entrance and a teen volunteer will take your donations for the Friends of the Library Book Sale next week Feb. 9, 10 and 11 (9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.). (Note: Feb. 9 is for "Friends" members only, but you'll be allowed to join on the spot.) 3) Saturday is the last day that the Dunedin Fine Art Center is accepting gently used art supplies and artwork for its "Trashy Treasures" event next weekend. 4) Now that all those old books, DVDs…
