City leaders unanimously adopted a permanent, New Year's Eve night extension of Dunedin's noise curfew during a public meeting on Dec. 20. The extension will allow merchants throughout Dunedin to keep music and bands playing until 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 1, instead of the city's nightly 11 p.m. noise cap. The allowance for amplified sound stays at 65 decibels. Officials adopted a nearly identical one-time extension last year.
