Whole Foods Market Plans Get Official Look

Conceptual plans to bring a Whole Foods Market to space at Westfield Countryside Mall are set for an initial, official review Wednesday.

There are more signs Whole Foods Market is coming to Westfield Countryside Mall. For example: The renderings planners filed in order to get direction from officials with the city's Building Plan Review Committee about bringing the nearly 38,000-square-foot store to space sliced out of the Sears at the mall. The committee is expected to review Wednesday the conceptual plans, which show different views of a modern facade and the Whole Foods logo. Sears would keep the south entrance near BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse and the service and merchandise pick-up entrances on the north part of the building. New facades would be installed at the Sears entrances. The four loading bay docks would be split. Whole Foods Location: Spy Photo Reveals Store's Split at Countryside Mall

A photo shared recently on Serendipity Cafe's Facebook page shows how the possible splitting of the Sears to wedge in the natural food grocery store at Westfield Countryside Mall would work.

Kim Mohr just went to Sears to pick up a freezer for her restaurant. Little did she know she would stumble across plans that seem to confirm a Whole Foods grocery store is coming to the Sears at Westfield Countryside Mall. She shared the photo which shows how the possible splitting of the Sears to wedge in the grocery store would work recently on Serendipity Cafe's Facebook page. "It's not a rumor anymore, it's official! Deep in the bowels of Sears, I came across the blueprints," she said in a post on her Dunedin restaurant's Facebook page. "Whole Foods is taking over the first floor of Sears at Countryside Mall, opening 2014." Countryside Mall Makes Case As Commercial Mecca

The retail center is expanding its presence as a commercial destination with additions including BJs Brewhouse, Cobb Theater and Bar Louie. Plans also include adding a P.F. Chang’s and possibly the area's first Whole Foods Market.

Look out International Plaza, Westfield Countryside Mall is attempting to build its reputation as a destination retail mecca. The $12 million in renovations recently lured in a Cobb Theater, and its restaurant row features destination eateries like BJs Brewhouse, Grimaldi’s, Red Robin and Bar Louie. A P.F. Chang’s is planned to open in February 2013 and rumor has it the county's first Whole Foods Market could come to the space as well. Lauren Clark, spokeswoman with the mall, said that through enhancements like the Cobb movie theater and restaurant row, retailers are choosing the mall as their place for space.  Clark said the mall is seeing double-digit traffic increases in shoppers and every available storefront is leased. Whole Foods Location: Plans Are Moving Forward, Countryside Mall Says

Plans are moving forward to bring the natural foods grocery chain to Clearwater, officials with Westfield Countryside Mall said Monday.

Plans are moving forward to bring Pinellas County's first Whole Foods Market to Westfield Countryside Mall, officials with the mall confirmed Monday. “From what we have seen and are allowed to speak about, Sears is working directly with (Whole Foods),” said Lauren Clark, spokeswoman with Westfield Countryside Mall. “We don’t have a date on exactly but we do know they are looking to move forward.” Whole Foods officials said they do not have a specific location in mind yet but are planning to open a store in Clearwater sometime in 2014. Whole Foods Location: More Details Revealed

More details have surfaced regarding a Whole Foods Market moving to Westfield Countryside Mall in Clearwater.

No, the location is not yet set, but planners are starting to dig in to the idea of bringing a Whole Foods Market to Westfield Countryside Mall in Clearwater. John Swirf, an architect with Direct Design Carroll Associates of Chicago, presented plans to slice 37,000 square feet out of the first floor of Sears’ space at the mall and develop the location for the natural grocery chain at a Clearwater city Business Plan Review Committee meeting Thursday. The architecture firm does not represent Whole Foods but has completed similar projects for Sears throughout the country and could submit official plans before Dec. 25, according to city officials. The first plan review would be 21 business days after it is submitted. “The firm has done several…

A better location is on Patricia Avenue where the Neilson Corp used to be in Dunedin. This land is vacant and needs a good business to anchor here. Westfield Countryside is too congested an area for a grocery store!   more ›
