Adoptables at Risk

Adoptable Dog: Sadie's Stay Too Long at Animal Services

Sadie is a sweet pitbull mix who has been stuck without a family since November.

There's no real reason that Sadie doesn't have a home other than her breed. Sadie is a beautiful, well-behaved and loving pitbull mix who's been at the Pinellas County Animal Shelter since November of last year. Sadie is a cuddlebug and loves to hang out by your side. She's a low-energy pup who just wants a warm and loving family to be a part of. How to Adopt Sadie is ready to go to her forever home. She is spayed and micro-chipped. The adoption fee is $40 and includes the first set of shots, a collar and leash, a bag of food and a toy for the dog. We've attached an adoption form (PDF) to make it easy. How to Help If you can't adopt, but still want to help, Animal Servces always needs volunteers. Contact Kelli Becraft at kbecraft@co.…

Adoptable Pets: Kira Wears Antlers, Kellie Was Abandoned

The Suncoast Animal League is trying to find forever homes for these great pets.

Meet Kira. With these antlers on, this 6-year-old Basset Hound looks like the Grinch's faithful "rein-dog," Max. Kira knows a few tricks, is well-behaved, house trained, and gets along well with children and other dogs. We haven't tested her yet with cats, but she's a mellow girl, so they probably wouldn't be a problem. Kira is currently living with a foster family. To make an appointment to meet her, please call the Suncoast Animal League office at 727-786-1330. Meet Kellie, a 10-month-old, buff-colored tabby cat. Kellie was abandoned at a vet's office and we honestly can't imagine why. She is so pretty, cuddly and sweet. She wants to be a constant companion, who would hang out on your lap all day. She seems to get along with children and…

Willow is a firecracker of excitment and energy. While energetic, she's still an adorable and sweet dog who absolutely love to give affection everyone around her. Willow is one-and-a-half years old and already knows some basic commands like sit and lie down and would be easily trained. Willow would make a great pet for anyone who's looking for an active and loving dog. How to Adopt Willow is ready to go to her forever home. She is spayed and microchipped. The adoption fee is $35 and includes the first set of shots, a collar and leash, a bag of food and a toy for the dog. We've attached an adoption form (PDF) to make it easy. Adoptable Doggie of the Week: Snoopy

Snoopy is hoping to find someone that loves her inside and out

This is Snoopy, a female Bearded Collie/Terrier mix that is about 55 pounds and five-years old.  Snoopy had been adopted, but was taken to the shelter because her owner got married and the wife did not want a dog.  I think that is crazy, it should be a package deal! Snoopy is a sweet girl, and has the most incredible big brown eyes.  She absolutely loves to play ball, and will do it for hours.  She doesn’t expect her owner to run around, as long as they are throwing the ball, she is happy.  After she plays fetch for a while, she just likes to lay back and relax with her owners. She also loves to go for car rides or any adventure that someone wants to take her on. Snoopy has lived with both dogs and does well with them after she gets to …

That dude that let his new wifey make him ditch the dog should get his head examined, pull those pants off his new wife, put on those pants, and go get his dog back. Then he should let snoopy sleep in the bed with them! Hate sissies like that guy. Believe me dude your wife would find someone else to harp and you will be happier. Letting some be@tch tool you like that is going to result in rough …   more ›

Rescue Me

Adoptable Doggie of the Week: Misty

She is one big cuddler, so much so that when she was transported to the rescue, she laid in one of the transporters arms like a baby.

Misty is a 2-year-old beagle mix from Citrus County. She weighs about 38 pounds, and every ounce is love. She absolutely loves to give kisses, probably to say thank you for saving her life. She is one big cuddler, so much so that when she was transported to the rescue, she laid in one of the transporters arms like a baby.  She does wonderful with other dogs. She was part of the pack immediately when she went to her foster home. Her fosters say that she never barks, and is so calm, sweet and gentle. They cannot believe how wonderful she is. She would be perfect with someone that wants to love her and show her attention. If you would like to adopt Misty and you live in Dunedin, Clearwater, Clearwater Beach, Safety Harbor, Ozona, Crystal …
