Dunedin Man Pawned Stepmother's Jewelry, Authorities Say

Nathan Christopher Williams, 20, was arrested and charged with felony grand theft Dec. 3 for allegedly pawning his stepmother's heirloom jewelry, authorities say.

A Dunedin man is in Pinellas County Sheriff's custody for allegedly pawning his stepmother's jewelry, authorities say. Nathan Christopher Williams, 20, of the 1500 block of Amberlea Drive, took several pieces of jewelry while visiting his father and stepmother's home on Sept. 30 and Nov. 30, Pinellas County Sheriff's arrest records indicate. He admitted to taking jewelry, which inlcuded cherished family heirlooms, from his stepmother's jewelry box inside her bedroom and pawning all but one of the pieces, authorities report.  The jewelry's estimated total value was more than $4,000, according to arrest records. Ex-Dunedin Teacher Pawns iPad Stolen From School, Cops Say

Investigators say Julia King, a former Dunedin Highland Middle School teacher, pawned the stolen iPad at a local Best Buy.

A former Dunedin Highland Middle School teacher was charged Friday with pawning an iPad that had been stolen from the school.  Investigators with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office say Julia King, 34, sold the iPad for $145 to a local Best Buy in April. Detectives began investigating the case in September 2011 after the device was reported stolen by Pinellas County Schools. King, who has a Naples address, was arrested at a home in Palm Harbor around 2:20 p.m. Friday and taken to the Pinellas County Jail without further incident, deputies said. King had been employed at Dunedin Highland Middle before later transferring to East Lake High School, according to deputies. East Lake High's online staff directory lists King as a social studies …
