Dunedin Teen Singer Hernandez Performs at Skin Cancer Benefit

Natharlie Hernandez recently performed at the Doctor Idol event put on by Florida Hospital North Pinellas and the Helen Ellis Memorial Foundation.

Dunedin teen singing sensation Nathalie Hernandez joined local physicians who rocked out for more than 400 community members during the recent Doctor Idol Tampa Bay event hosted by Florida Hospital North Pinellas and the Helen Ellis Memorial Foundation. The charity event was held to benefit skin cancer prevention efforts. Throughout the night, six bands, each featuring one local physician, took the stage for 15 minutes with hopes of winning the title of Doctor Idol Tampa Bay. Free Skin Cancer Screenings for Melanoma Monday

Morton Plant Hospital is offering skin cancer screenings on Monday. Advance registration is required.

Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater is offering free skin cancer screenings to the public on Monday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Those wishing to be screened are being asked to register in advance at 727-953-6877. Only exposed skin will be checked. It is part of a national awareness campaign to stamp out melanoma, the nation’s most common cancer. Floridians are particularly at risk because of year-round sun exposure. This is the 16th year that Morton Plant Mease as participated in “Melonoma Monday.” Screenings will take place at Morton Plant Hospital in the Cheek-Powell Heart and Vascular Pavilion (meeting Rooms A and B), 455 Pinellas St. in Clearwater.
